Baked Spaghetti Recipe (1)

My husband would live off of spaghetti if I would make it every day. But after making it (A LOT) for twenty years, it’s not my favorite. At all. I decided to switch things up and try baked spaghetti. And it is so much better! If you are looking for a quick and easy dinner, and one that will be a crowd pleaser, this is it. It is our new family favorite.

How to Make Baked Spaghetti

This spaghetti dinner starts off just like the recipe you have been using for years. First, cook your spaghetti noodles according to the packages directions. While the water is boiling, you can start on the meat sauce. Sauté the diced onions in butter, and when they turn golden, add your hamburger meat. Once the beef is cooked through and browned, you can add the spaghetti sauce to the mixture and allow to simmer for ten minutes.

After your noodles are cooked, drain them and add them to the sauce. Stir in some parmesan cheese and pour into a greased casserole dish. Then is the good part. Top the spaghetti with mozzarella and more parmesan cheese and bake in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes. Just adding this last step will make all of the difference.

I just started making baked spaghetti myself. My son told me he prefers it to regular spaghetti. I’ve done it meatless with egg noodles, sauce, mozarella cheese and goat cheese with parmesan and bread crumbs sprinkled on top (that way I don’t have to make bread too!)!

    Love your site!
