Starting as a Product or UX designer and unsure how to write and design a resume? Check out this free Figma resume template I made.I designed it with auto-layouts and added instructions for new product/UX designers. It also has demo content to help you frame strong statements about your projects. My students, mentees, and I have used this template and have landed interviews and job offers at great companies like Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Electronic Arts (EA), Dropbox, PwC, Accenture, and so on. Over 5,000 designers have tried it and some of them shared their positive feedback and how this resume helped them to land job interviews.A few resume tips:- Your resume doesn't need to be flashy. Simple with clear fonts is best.- ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) often scan up to two-column resumes. If you want to be on the safer side, stick to a one-column format.- Use strong action verbs.- Always quantify your achievements when you can.Good luck with your job hunt!#uxdesign #uxui #uxdesigner #productdesign #productdesigner

ACING YOUR NEXT DESIGN INTERVIEW IN YOUR UI/UX JOURNEYEvery designer's goal in an interview is to leave a lasting impression that leads to a job offer. The process has no hard and fast rule and different companies have their unique recruitment process. However, you can ace your design interview as a UI/UX designer and make it an engaging experience by considering the following tips:Create an interactive portfolio: Instead of simply presenting static images of your designs, consider creating an interactive portfolio that allows interviewers to engage with your work. You can use prototyping tools or platforms like Figma or InVision to showcase your designs in a more dynamic and immersive way.Share design challenges: Discuss a particularly challenging design problem you encountered in the past and how you overcame it. Highlight the creativity, resourcefulness, and resilience you demonstrated in finding innovative solutions. Use storytelling techniques to make the narrative engaging and captivating.Demonstrate your design thinking: Rather than solely discussing the end results of your projects, delve into your design process and the reasoning behind your decisions. Describe how you conducted user research, gathered insights, and incorporated feedback. This helps interviewers understand your problem-solving abilities and showcases your strategic thinking skills.Incorporate storytelling: Use storytelling techniques to illustrate the impact of your designs. Share anecdotes about how your designs positively affected user experiences, improved conversion rates, or solved business problems. By weaving stories into your answers, you can captivate the interviewers' attention and make a memorable impression.Offer a unique perspective: Bring fresh insights and unique perspectives to the interview by discussing emerging design trends, innovative technologies, or design philosophies that inspire you. Demonstrate your curiosity and willingness to explore new ideas, which can spark engaging conversations and set you apart from other candidates.Engage in a dialogue: Treat the interview as a two-way conversation. Ask thought-provoking questions about the company's design processes, challenges they face, or future directions. Engaging in a genuine dialogue demonstrates your interest in the role and the company, and it allows you to assess if the company's design culture aligns with your aspirations. In conclusion, remember to be yourself and let your personality shine throughout the interview. By combining your design expertise with storytelling, creativity, and engaging communication skills, you can make your design interview a captivating and memorable experience. Best of luck!#interview #interviewtips #designer

9 Steps to Ace a UX Designer interview: 1. Research the company, team, and their focus. Understand their projects and potential challenges they might face. 2. Keep the job description handy by saving it as a PDF, so you can refer to it as needed. 3. Reflect on your strengths and areas for improvement, comparing them to the listed qualifications and responsibilities. 4. Highlight your skills by preparing talking points and sharing interesting stories from your projects. 5. If you lack experience in some areas, be honest (Don't BS) and discuss any related work you've done. 6. Prepare thoughtful questions for the interviewer, as you're also evaluating if the role is a good fit. 7. Familiarize yourself with the company's culture and values, helping you tailor your answers and assess compatibility. 8. Practice common interview questions to boost your confidence and readiness. 9. Focus on finding a job that matches your skills and interests, rather than trying to "stand out." Remember, not every opportunity is the right fit. These steps can increase your chances of finding a suitable role. Have more tips to share? Let your fellow UXers know! 🔖 Don't forget to save this post ❇️ Share it with your UX friends! #ux #uxDesign
