Glue down vinyl plank flooring adheres to the subfloor using either one of two types of adhesives: hard-set or pressure-sensitive adhesives. Hard-set adhesive is spread along the subfloor, and then the vinyl planks are laid down on top.

Planks may separate due to factors such as humidity or physical shifting, particularly with click-lock floors. To remedy this issue: Vacuum the gap to remove debris for a tight seam. Use a suction cup and rubber mallet to scoot the board into place.

Remember to acclimatise your LVT to the room temperature for at least 24 hours before installation and leave a 6-8mm gap around the edge of the room to accommodate for expansion. Click LVT does exactly that, clicks together.

What causes Buckling? The main reason for buckling is loose-lay or glue-down flooring. One of the major reasons your vinyl floor causes buckling is they are coming in contact with warmer things such as sunlight, which can expand the floor and causes buckling.

Choosing the right thickness for your SPC flooring is crucial to ensure its durability, stability, and overall performance. A thickness of 4mm to 5mm is considered ideal for most residential and commercial applications.

A thicker SPC Hybrid flooring feels more stable and comfortable underfoot. If you want to refresh the look of your low-traffic bedroom, a thin SPC Hybrid plank flooring will do the trick. Choose a thicker floor for high traffic areas, such as family rooms, dining/living areas and hallways.

Additionally, while it's scratch-resistant, heavy objects can still cause damage if dropped onto the floor. It's also worth noting that while SPC flooring can imitate the look of natural materials, it may not fully replicate the feel or texture of materials like hardwood.

When you have a bump or dip in your subfloor, the uneven surface can cause vinyl planks click-lock-systems to become uneven. This will cause creaking or “popping” every time you walk over the floor. An underlayment can help fill in subfloor imperfections and leave your flooring a smooth surface to lay on.

Click flooring will be more comfortable, due to the extra thickness and underlay. However, gluedown is less likely to move and feel the effects of increased foot traffic if it's firmly attached to the subfloor. For this reason, we'd recommend using gluedown LVT in these areas that see heavy footfall.

T&G flooring can be installed over any subfloor including joists, whereas click fitting flooring cannot. Solid wood flooring is only found with a tongue and groove fitting system. It is easier to replace damaged planks of flooring with click fitting. Tongue and groove is available in wider planks of flooring.

Floating floors whether vinyl, hybrid, or engineered timber are fairly durable but compared to solid hardwood floors or tiles, they don't last as long. In addition, some types may be prone to warping over time if exposed to too much moisture or humidity which could lead to costly repairs down the line.
